What started as a fun idea to do something outside of work, blossomed into a full blown league, complete with merch and topped off with a hardcore launch video. Fun was had. No wiffleball was played. Probably for the best because we’re designers, not athletes.
Concept and Design was done collaboratively with fellow designer, Sean Connerty.
RELAXED RECREATION,
CASUAL COMPETITION.
I dusted off extremely old VHS footage from my family wiffleball outtings (filmed by my great uncle who was, in fact, a professional cinematographer). We designed a full brand identity and about 18 SKUs of merch, in about two days.
Surprisingly, after a somewhat sarcastic instagram post, we got a ton of interest and eventually had to break the news it was fake. Even more surprisingly, I asked zero members of my family for permission to use their childhood likeness.
